I ordered a Veepeak Mini WiFi OBD2 scanner. Can people recommend the best iOS software to use with this?

Ha! I was just about to post this question.
I just received my Veepeak Mini WiFi OBD2 today, and was planning to use the Carista app. But it is pretty expensive, so I was hoping to get the group's input on a less expensive alternative that also has the ability to change backup beep settings, etc.
    Thanks in advance!

Does the free Carista version let you do anything?

I believe the free Carista version lets you see engine and car data, but not customize the car's settings.

Do you need the Carista adapter to use the Carista app and features?

I have an Automatic Adapter and I didn't know if I could use the Carista app with the Automatic Adapter.

OK - I bit the bullet and bought the Carista Pro app.
Everything worked perfectly. I plugged in my Veepeak Mini WiFi OBD2, turned on the car, used my iphone wifi settings to connect to the Veepeak's signal, opened Carista and selected the WiFi option (I think it says something like "WiFi ELM327"), and then asked Carista to Customize. (Carista pretty much walks you through this part of the process.) It takes about 5 minutes for Carista to scan the car's system, and then it lists the customizable options. You can change these options, but once you try to save those changes, it states that you'll need to purchase the pro package. To do this, you need to disconnect your iphone's wifi from the Veepeak (but can leave the Veepeak plugged in), purchase the pro package, and then Carista will let you save your car settings. I changed lots of things including the backup and seatbelt beeps, unlocking doors options, and some lighting things.
It's really easy and the Veepeak and Carista seem fully compatible.
    Good luck!

The Carista Pro is $19.99 through an In-app purchase. One of the best features is how well they have organized the car's options.

I got the Carista OBD adapter and used it with the Carista app. Totally seamless. The Carista adapter communicates with the iPhone via low energy Bluetooth rather than WiFi. Perhaps this makes it evan easier to connect, at least to an iPhone??

I just wish Carista could register a new set of TPMS sensors.

Anybody try OBD Fusion? Good reviews and cheaper than Carista at $10.

Tech support from OBD Fusion app says it works with Veepeak & 2016 Prius. I may start there and report back.

DO NOT BUY OBD Fusion! It appears to only read things, even though they told me it can set things.

i just got the Carista OBD adapter, and went with a Bluetooth version over a WiFi because once you start the connection you can no longer look/search the web for error codes you find.. well that is what I was reading..

The best OBD program in can recommend for reading data is "Engine Link " it allows you to enter custom pid into the program and choose which kind of display window you want it to show like in "Torque" for Android. I have used it for some time and i am quite satisfied with the program.

    Cheers :)

    I do not recommend BlueDriver.
I can only get it to work with the BlueDriver app, and is read only.

You cannot make any settings !
