What type of oil + filter y’all using on your PiP?

    I’m running:
    - Halvoline Full Synthetic high mileage (86k mi currently)
    - Basic oil filter

    Thinking of switching to:
    - Mobil One Full Synthetic (High Mileage)
    - TRD Oil Filter or WiX synthetic media

Any noticeable difference in performance? I’m curious to hear so let me know! :D

Just curious why you're using "high mileage" oil. Such oils contain additives to swell rubber, to prolong the life of an engine that's got high consumption. Once you start with them you should probable stick with them: returning to regular oil the rubber seals may retract, accelerating oil consumption.

They really should spell this out though: I can remember looking at a bottle of high mileage oil years back, thinking geez maybe I should start using this.

I serviced mine for the first time last weekend (was under warranty previously), and just used the Toyota 0W20 oil and OEM filters. I forget who made the oil filters, but the air and pollen filters were Denso.

I do the same. Mobile1 is also good as are others. I wouldn't use high mileage on a car with only 86k miles, though.

Thanks for the responses guys. On my next oil change I’ll be running:

    - Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy (AFE) Synthetic OW-20
    - Toyota OEM Oil Filter or WIX Oil Filter (Synthetic Media)
    - OEM Gasket

Again, if you go from a high mileage oil, back to a regular oil, keep a close eye on the dipstick.

You may be ok, but their claim-to-fame is that they swell rubber, valve guides for example. Coming off such oil, the rubber that has swollen may shrink, more than before, allowing leakage.

They should have to spell this out on the bottle, my 2 cents.
