just had to put my 2cents iin. my used basic 2012 prius is turning out to be the best of all that ive had (about 5). since i got elvira in march ive but over 3000 miles on it and use it locally most of the time. got from carmax with slightly under 17000 miles on it.cost $16999. on the monitor it had less than 1% ev . now 10%. when i drove to daytona and back a couple of months ago (1800miles or so) got 48 mpg. but ....this month putting over 500miles locally averaged 86mpg. this car was originally from manhattan and i keep finding little dings and blemishes from that "great" environment. im thinkiing that it was not driven much, especially in the witer since the gauges showed only 70 miles driven the month before sold to carmax.
....so, why do i like Elvira so much. mostly for mileage. ease of use. now that i have a plug (120volt) right in the driveway. love my new michelin defenders which i got right before my big daytona trip.
......anyway, i just had to go on about elvira......

I get it and if you're not penny pinching, why not have exactly what you want. Sweet

even though im being redundant, im really glad i got the tires. i almost got the energy savers but for some reason availability seemed a question. with the defenders replacement (if needed) does not seem to be a problem. as opposed to some folks on the forum , i did not experience any reduction in mileage.
