After 6 years you now can't tolerate wind noise? Either sell the car or put your issue in the proper forum. Hatchbacks will always be louder from road noise than either of your other cars.

Such a waste of my time trying to find answers on this site. I intend to sell it now since I got more efficient answers on FB which proves this prius is not worth the hassle.

You may want to experiment with 'noise cancelling' ear buds or head phones. These have a small microphone and amplifier that takes the outside noise and inverts it to the sound generators. This cancels most of the noise. I use noise canceling ear buds at bars to 'mute' the ambient noise.

Do you have any attachments on your car like a roof rack or trailer hitch bike carrier? If so, that's probably where most of the noise comes from and there's not a lot you can do other than to remove them. Otherwise it's kind of hard to suggest something with so little information. Perhaps you need to redo the seals around the doors or hatch.

The Prius was designed for gas mileage and that means other things like quiteness took a back seat...

Lmao so you drove the car for 6 years and didn't have an issue until now. Sounds more like you brought the car used recently and got pwnt

I put some tape over the holes underneath the mirror and it made all the difference in the world.

Huh, holes under the mirror? Perhaps some tubes of different lengths and you'd have reinvented the Scottish contribution to music:

Mount a couple of tires with bulges for the beat ... a musical treat.

I concur, the wind noise on my '12 was far higher than on my '04. I think they went from two door gaskets to one. I'll try the mirror hole thing, though. Hard to believe that they wouldn't have caught that in wind-tunnel testing.

No roof rack or trailer hitch. What kind of seals around the doors and hatch? I can try to order something on Amazon if that is going to be an affordable solution.

You're very unhelpful and just plain rude to falsely accuse me of such lies. No, I did not buy my prius used. I bought it brand new in 2012 with 5 miles on it. I already stated that clearly. I just didn't realize how loud I could hear the noise coming from outside until after I got my Camry and Audi recently. When I went back to drive my prius last week, I could tell a big difference. I initially thought maybe something was wrong with my tires but they are Michelin energy savers, so something else is apparently causing the noise to come into the cabin. I was trying to find an affordable solution to this problem so when I drive it around town, it feels more luxurious and quiet; not trying to insult/argue on this forum.
