    you know how long it took me to get the little corrective voice out of my head when we moved to the east end of the country?

    shows were on at FIVE four central and that little "four central" stuck in my head for MONTHS!

    I'd like to thank everyone who voted for my avatar. It's just a picture of me with the HSD badge on my forehead, un-retouched, un-Photoshopped, no gimmicks, and I didn't change it as these polls progressed. When I took the picture back in May 2005 when I joined, I thought it made the point that I have the Hybrid Synergy Drive (and power-split device) on my mind, or at least the badge...

    As some of you noticed and guessed, this is my 1000th post. I was on a business trip when all this started and couldn't participate at first, then when I noticed my post count, I thought I'd save number 1000 for this one. It's been very hard not posting these past several days, though I have been sending PMs responding to specific questions or situations. Expect to to see lots more posts.

    I really like most of the people here on PriusChat, and those I don't I just ignore. I'm not sure I like how my face has been misappropriated in some of the Photoshopped pictures, but they are mostly funny. Someone suggested my face is in the public domain; it is not.

    Anyway, thanks again for voting for my avatar. Maybe I'll get a PriusChat T-shirt... :D

    Bill if you win this avatar election, You'll need a few Prius advisors, consultants and a Chief of Staff.

    I don't mind being your Chief of Staff. You are a person of good moral character
    and would make a great avatar for Priuschat.

    If you do lose this avatar election, maybe the next election, we at Priuschat can set up a campaign headquarters for Bill Merchant and have a few campaign consultants, some fundraisers, volunteers, open a few phone banks and mail glossy political flyers to every Priuschat precint in the entire United States. :)

    Congratulations to maggieddd, and to Bill Merchant. The "contest", as everyone knew, was between apples and oranges, both good for you.

    I want to thank Bill and maggie for allowing me to have my little lark, as many of us count down the days until we rendezvous with our new cars. I didn't ask anyone's permission, and I appreciate their co-operation.

    I must say, between the "chick" thread and this one, more hilarity was generated in a brief time than I've even been a party to on the internet. Not a second of it was intended to be at anyone's expense (with the exception of the Vice-President). If it had been, I would have asked Danny or a moderator to shut it down immediately.

    Over 99% of us have never met, and never will. We're as different as maggie's and Bill's avatars. That's what makes the chemistry among almost all of PriusChat's membership so amazing to me. Despite the heat generated by some discussions, I see no mean-spiritedness, and that's especially important to our new members. (Depending on what they click on first, some of them must wonder what kind of looney bin they've entered, but they soon know that almost no one with a concern goes unresponded-to.)

    Thanks to everyone for participating. :)

    Maybe next time we all at priuschat can tone it down for Bill Merchant especially on the Prius Chick thread. I do believe he is a very real nice person and deserves plenty of great respect. I think we all like him...and our goofing around got out of hand.
