My mechanic is quoting me $328 to replace the blower motor in my 2007 Prius. 107k miles. I am not a DIY gal. Is that a reasonable quote??

seems high to me. call a dealer parts department for part number and cost. then google the part number for online pricing. i think it is a pretty quick swap out below the cabin filter.

edit: a simple google search reveals parts geek has 2001-2009 blower motor for $45. and prius chat search diy time of about 45 minutes.

You can do it yourself with a Phillips screw driver in a few minutes. Find a YouTube video for reference

The list price of the OEM Toyota blower is $150.77 and AllData lits the billable time at .5 hours, so $328 sounds a little high. There is a blower controller (usually referred to as a resistor) that could be bad (instead of, or in addition to the blower), that lists for $221.44, but the motor is more likely to be at fault. I did this swap on my 2004, and a screwdriver and a little twisting (OK, maybe more than just a little!) is all there is to it, and the controller is right there next to the motor.
Here is a link to one of the Blower Replacement videos and this one (not as bouncy).

We have members that bought aftermarket replacement parts for around $60 and they've worked just like the original

I agree that there are certainly ways to save money (and even the Toyota dealer I linked was selling the part for $101 online), but the mechanic is probably pricing using the OEM part pricing, so let's say $150 for part, $75 for .5 hours (maybe higher in CA?) + $25 "shop fee" = only $250 + tax for the job--quote was $328, Why?
