Blown Head Gasket at 263,000 -

    20170708_121214.jpg Just purchase a 2014 Plug in Prius this last weekend.
    Certified with navigation,heated seats,entune radio, remote A/C, hands free phone.
    30,000 miles on it, paid $20,500 for it.


    $2400 for my trade in:

    my very trusty 2010 Prius

    I drove this car 1000 miles per week and it never let me down.
    It usually got timely oil changes(castrol synthetic) and air filters, but little else ever broke.

    The A/C was still doing a great job, even on a 100 degree day.

    It was diagnosed with a blown head gasket, so i bailed out. ($4000 dealer quote for repairs)

    So pleased with it overall, i bought another one.

    Waited until the 2016 model came out, but didnt buy one,
    prefer the 2010 to 2015 model.

    Did they say what caused the blown head gasket? Did it have any symptoms of failing or did it just go at once without warning? I think you can swap in a lower mileage used ICE motor for 1500-2k.
