Blue Light/Line on Dash

    Also not familiar with the V, but does it change color based on the driving mode (Eco, Normal, Power)?

    No idea. I don't recall noticing it in the 6 years I've owned the car. It's low, possibly something in front of it that took my attention.

    I document my oil changes by placing the empty box for the oil filter next to the odometer. Then I take a picture with my phone. I have a Google Photo album of every oil change I performed on my 2013 Prius V since June of 2017 (other cars since 2013 when I got my first android phone). The date information is embedded in the photo. For a while, I got 1/2 price oil changes at sears for being an Uber driver, so there is a big gap in the middle. The Sears I used is now closed.



    Every one of the photos I took shows the blue line. I think we fail to notice it because the instrument lights are brighter. On shutdown, all of the instrument lights go dark, and the blue line persists for a minute or so.

    The strange thing is, it was not there this morning when I went out. But as long as it is a "feature" I'm not going to worry about it.

    I figured out why some people seem surprised they never noticed it before. On our 2017 four, I was playing with the 8-way adjustable seats. If I adjust the seat to all the way back, with my butt at the lowest position, I can see the whole cluster, but I can't see the blue line.

    So my theory is that for shorter people, the line gets hidden by the top of the air vent. Taller people always can see it. People in the middle sometimes see it when the seat is adjusted just right. Short people have to look while they are entering or leaving the car, with the car in ready mode.

    I have noticed that the blue color is really close to the color of the background of the Toyota Logo. Definitely a marketing thing.
