I have a 2010 Toyota Prius V with an iPhone and use my car A LOT! And when someone calls I need to wait 4 seconds before they can hear me. Is there a way to fix this. I've tried everything as far a pairing.

I was told the delay is shorter with newer navigation discs. I have disc version 8.1 (2008 map data) which apparently is the source of the delay and 9.1 or newer should fix it. I plan to upgrade soon since the maps are already 3 years old.

It seems like less of a problem with the nav update

I agree. The 11.1 upgrade is less of a problem. It is not completely eliminated but much shorter delay time.

I have to wait a second or two with just the iPhone alone too; though often, that time is spent bringing the phone up to my ear. There's no such physical delay with the car. I've learned to just take a breath after I press the button, but before I answer. They'll still be on the other end...

Why do you need to hold the phone? I thought you're using the bluetooth handsfree system?

I think the OP meant when using the iPhone by itself there is a delay between pressing a button to answer and the call actually connecting.

In my '06 it takes a couple of seconds from the time I push the steering wheel button until the call connects. I usually say "hello" a second time before the other party hears me, but it hasn't really been a problem. I've never updated the nav.
