Bought PCV valve without Toyota label

    I wonder if this PCV valve is original Toyota? It came from Evans Toyota in Fort Wayne Indiana. It's not labeled at all, no part number. Never bought Toyota parts that weren't labeled 20180720_130525.jpeg

    Do Google Image Search for 12204-37010. It looks similar to most results. Wonder what the story is, maybe factory that makes them sells some to Toyota, and also independently?

    I don't like the looks of that liberal lock-tight goop, would maybe try to wire brush that off? Or not? Not sure.

    The Repair Manual does call for a lock-tight application on the threads, see attachment:

    It's stamped with 37010 so it should be the right part. Just strange it comes in that type of packaging.
