FYI for us poor folks from WA who are not getting any Primes any time soon some info:
* Getting a car from Oregon seems impossible...the few available are sold as fast as they come in, it seems, AND even though Toyota region told WA dealers that they can trade with Oregon dealers to get some cars to WA, it turned out that OR dealers are not willing to trade (and can't be forced...)
* Getting a car from California as an out-of-state resident is not a problem counter to what I've been told from a dealer that frequents this board.. Dealers are willing to sell to Out of state customers in the LA area as well as in the Bay area, same deals apply as for CA residents, including minor reductions in MSRP + the $500 Toyota cash discount.

You don't know how freaking jealous I am!

After you've had time to drive it a little, and sit in it, and enjoy it, and stand there and look at it, please give us your impressions of the cargo area in the hatch...how big/small it is for items you normally carry in the back, like bicycles or groceries etc. We're all waiting for your review/impressions of the car so we can live vicariously through you.

art, do you own a tape measure?

 

Unfortunately, I do not own a tape measure. The cargo area is much smaller in real life, went grocery shopping and surprised by the lack "usable" space compared to a regular Prius.

• Do not notice much of a weight difference with the carbon fiber hatch
• Downloaded the chargepoint app (all cars include a $100 card hidden in the glovebox)
• Still attempting to learn how to charge a mobile phone wirelessly (iPhone needs an additional adapter)
• Downloaded the Entune app that controls many features on the Advanced package

 

Maybe you could ask a friend or neighbour to lend you a tape measure? I for one would really like to know the height from the cargo floor below the tonneau cover.
Also, can you check whether, when in pure EV mode, turning on the Windshield Defogger (as you U.S.folk call it) starts the ICE?

Just found one, 9.5 inches. The cargo area is tight!

 

My backpack (the cargo I carry routinely) will fit within that just fine.

 

Thanks! Interested to know about the Defogger too.

Did your Prime come with the battery fully charged?
