hatch space. just because my coffee cup will fit in it, doesn't make it viable.

IIRC, you said you wouldn't buy a volt because it couldn't carry your recumbent bicycle. Will the Prime?

It should still fit. The requirement was a floor that didn't drop below the bumper, so the bike could be loaded in by pushing it. That wasn't possible with Volt's dropped floor. Raised is fine.

Of course, 5 years later, mom isn't going on long-distance trail rides anymore anyway.

So does that mean 9,5 under the cover or 9,5 under the bar of the cover ?
If 9.5 under the cover than there would be only about 8.27 inches under the bar of the cover if you would push the luggage right in the back under it with upright seats !
Now really if so,Toyota needs their mind reading !
Also they didn't tell the truth, because that wouldn't match up with the figures they stated in German press release !
In that case they didn't raise the floor 6.3 inches as they claimed, they have raised it 7.5 inches !

My Prime came with an empty battery and 40% filled up with gas. EV mode is maintained with the defogger on

9.5 under the bar of the cover
    10 under the cover

Significantly less "usable" space in the cargo area compared to the regular Prius

On a positive note, the seats are extremely comfortable and the quality of the softex is impressive. However, the infotainment system is extremely complicated and unintuitive. Feels like a cheap system from 2005, yet it's the focal point of the interior. The infotainment system will most likely not age well, which will probably impact resale value

    Positives:
    • Exterior Design
    • Headlights/Tailights
    • Seat Quality/Comfort
    • EV mode feels amazing
    Negatives:
    • Usable Cargo Space
    • Atrocious Infotainment System
    • Cheap white plastic
    • Wireless phone charging requires an adapter for the iPhone

How about the screen flare and usability of the map on the screen? I always think a larger screen translates into a better view of the map when driving.

How much space is it from floor to the glass, without the cover?

My Gen 2 is 13.5" under the cover. So, 3.5 inches less in the prime.

No matrix headlights in the US. Just LED headlights.

No issues with flare/glare, the screen appears to have a tiny bit of depth protecting it from the sun. Personally, I prefer using my iPhone with Google maps to the Prime navigation system. The system feels like using an old Blackberry

The headlights on the Advanced are rather sleek, makes the car look like a 45k-50k vehicle.

13 - 14 inches at it's lowest point; to the bar separating the two pieces of glass on the hatch
