Long story short: bought my car on right before the end of the year. Warning lights BRAKE, ABS, VSC, and (!) came on a week into the new year only to find that Toyota had a faulty break system that they are no longer covering. I've put in a complaint to the NHTSA for their neglect to recall these breaks and instead only issuing a "warranty enhancement" to make it seem like they made no mistake. It's clear that they messed up when assembling the unit from the fact that this is a very prevalent issue and I don't see why costumers should have to pay for their mistake. I urge anyone else with this problem to file a complaint and hopefully we can get something done about this unacceptable situation.
I was hoping we might get some relief from Toyota here in early 2018, but so far no luck reported. Does @TampaPrius fix this kind of thing?
I don't but I will be seeking out legal advice this week to see if anything else can be done about this.
i just got a class action suit in the mail, 28 million dollar award if you put mediatronics on the no call list, but they continued call you. brake actuator should be worth billions!
Not sure there is a legal argument, but if so perhaps the fact that all model years had 12-31-2017 deadline is one angle. If you had a 2004 you were covered 13 years. 2007 only 10.
