Something interesting to note about my brake fluid level was when I had the Brake Booster Pump Assembly replaced with the recall, the service report only noted 1 unit of brake fluid was used. I noticed that most others that reported their service report indicated 3 to 4 units of brake fluid.

I have no idea if this difference in brake fluid replacement had anything to do with my initial drop in brake fluid and the addition of fluid or not but I thought that it was interesting. I asked my Service Advisor about this and of course he had no explanation.

Maybe depending if they replaced fluid, vs top-up? When ours was in for that I specifically asked that they replace the fluid. It's my pref to replace tri-yearly. Even though Toyota says nothing on the subject, I know Honda recommends tri-yearly change, regardless of mileage.

I asked the Service Advisor for a brake fluid replace and was told that was part of the recall service. When I picked up the car this SA was out to lunch. When I asked the SA that checked me out about this he had no answer as to why they only topped off versus replace.

My wife has a Honda Accord and I am also aware of Honda's recommendation and I have done this on her car. I will be taking my car back to the dealer and have the fluid replaced in the near future.
