For the last two weeks the car has had issues starting immediately after depressing the brake pedal. Often the brake pedal has difficulty being pressed. Often the hybrid display panel/clock area won't come online/is blank.

Usually when it finally does start, and runs for 20 mins or so, if I try again there is no problem and the display panel lights up again. I think this indicates one of the batteries has charged up again, which leads me to believe the battery might be the root problem? The 2010 Prius has 100,400 miles on it. The batteries have never been changed.

    Thanks for any suggestions/help.

Yeah battery replacement is overdue. Just wondering too, if the problems persist after battery change: there's a switch on the brake that detects you're pushing the brake (necessary to start the car), maybe that needs adjustment?

there is a 12v battery to power up the computers, ($200. plus install) and a hybrid drive battery to start the engine, run some accessories and motivate the car. ($2,600. plus install) focus on the first buy testing the voltage.
the second isn't likely the problem.

The hard brake pedal may be related to the 12V in that it powers the vacuum pump you hear when you first open the door. It buzzes a few seconds to create vacuum for the power brake assist. But hard brake pedal alone should not affect powering the car on. It doesn't take much pedal depress to enable the power on sequence.
