Brake warning lamp, and thumping

    Gen2. 08 prius, 120k. No codes. Scanning , turned off light. Did not clear. I need to locate vac pump.

    None yet. Think noise is brake accumulator. Could be internal hydraulic . How about rear brakes ( drum) need adjusting ?

    not sure, might be self adjusting. if i lived in tampa, i'd swing by tampa hybrids and chat with them. todd is a good guy and a member here. even if you diy, he is very helpful.

    If it's the brake pump, Toyota extended the warranty, but they won't replace it for free unless it throws a code. And it's REALLY expensive, so I hope it's something else. But it's interesting that you have a warning light and no code. I didn't know that could happen.

    And Bisco is absolutely right about Tampa Hybrids. Todd knows practically everything and they do just about everything except alignment, oil change, or tires. In fact, I was just over there today.

    Yes i have been there nice gent. Im a former Toyota Mazda tech. Have the Toyota laptop software. No codes.

    On my last oil change they wanted to adjust the rear brakes I said they're self-adjusting he said sometimes, that was killed at Tampa Bay with those service advisor guy

    Toyota doing extended replacement. Cant ask for more 123.000 miles. 08. Must have code as discussed.. Spoiled , waiting to get my most loyal friend back!

    Yes it is. Thanks to TampaHybrids com for the advice. Todd is a strait shooter. From keys Traction Battery. You cant get better. Toyota being smart to support the brand.
