    Greetings Prius Chat members,

is here somebody, which can explain, what is the problem, why any toyota/lexus don't have traction control, which brake wheel in air? I saw some videos with hybrid vehicles on rollers and they all were stuck. Is there any reason from the principle?

Back in November, I took a 2009 into a Carworks service bay, and got out to let it be driven onto the lift.

The fellow who drove it on applied the parking brake, but forgot to find the P button or turn off the car. :)

As the lift rose, the right front corner came up first, and that wheel began to spin, followed by a loud driveline clunk as its brake applied and the torque bounced over to the left front wheel still on the ground.

Wish I could have seen that on You Tube. My version of it in my minds' eye is exciting. Big metal.

In answer to the OP, I don't think the vehicle should ever leave the ground while in READY mode. Or made READY while any of the wheels are not in full contact with the ground. Probably something to this effect in the owners manual. It is a very good document to get familiar with to avoid a whole host of nuisance insurance claims.

Two guesses: The traction control might be braking or turning off all 4 wheels.
This is why there is a switch to turn it OFF.

Except the Gen 2 doesn't have such a switch.
