Brand new Prime. Range shows 22 miles after fully charged

    After fully charging my one day old Prime and getting in the car before even driving off the electric range says 22 miles instead of 25. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience this? I understand driving conditions can obviously effect the range but it should still start off with 25 miles as it is fully charged not even driven yet.

    Does anyone's say 25 miles right when getting into the car after it being plugged in?

    Congrats on the new Prime! As you continue to drive and recharge the car, the reported electric range will adjust to your driving patterns. Many on this forum report over 30 miles and I've topped out around 34 after a charge. It isn't completely accurate but I think it reflects the average miles/kWh from your most recent drive.

    Do not panic my friend. What you see is based on the driving history of your car to give you the estimated EV miles range. My range at first charge was only 23.4. I'm currently at 34-35, with mostly surface street driving in Southern California. You should get a nice smile after a few charges!

    Yes, it depends on the history and adjusts as you go. Your dealer may have left it in EV mode for some of the prep work. When I got mine there was 6 miles on it and the mpg was 8. So the ICE was run without moving much. Good luck and enjoy. In Cali you should get well over 30, depending on your driving style.

    Playing with our Prime this past winter, I have noticed that most of the time it starts saying 20 miles.

    Driving in negative temps if the defrost is going it says 20, turn off the defrost and it says 25 miles.

    Mine also said 22 range after the first charge. I've had it for 8 days and my range now says 31.

    got mine ~ 10 days ago, first charge was < 25 miles and has been steadily improving, this morning 33.7 ... I'm in SoCal

    Mine still only tops out at 26 miles, but I am in the northeast so we pay the price for having bad weather :D. I am looking forward to the next couple weeks as the weather tends to be just about perfect for hybrid vehicles. Then we get into the muggy summer like weather and all bets are off again. Darn allergies force me to use the AC more than I would like. It is that or I don't get to see traffic while driving, figure it is safer to turn on the AC and not have my eyes water so bad I can't see. Hoping that the AC is efficient in this vehicle and doesn't kill my EV mileage too badly.

    Mine was only 22 first few days, slowly increasing, 10 days, it is up to 27.3 after full charge.
    looking forward to low 30's

    Sounds good :). As Li batteries cycle they get their full capacity so maybe that's why. Probabaly needs a few full cycles before max range can show

    I haven't traveled far enough to know, but I will be making a 21 mile trip on Wednesday

    I did do a couple of small trips totaling 20.1 miles with 9.4 miles left on my dashboard

    Nice, My commute to work is right at 18 miles one way. When parking at my office, I am seeing small fractions of increases in what is left on the battery. So I think mine is improving. I am taking advantage of whole foods free charging when I am at work. It is a small walk from my office.

    I've had mine since 1-31 and my EV miles have ranged from 22.3 to 32.7 on my morning commute (35.9 miles), depending on weather. Waiting on warmer mornings. :) Would like to get to work on EV only.

    Also crazy NJ weather. Yesterday I played golf in the morning starting at 35° and today I drive home at 85°. :confused:
