Whenever we were down at test depth I used to remind some of the newbies that the boat was built by the lowest bidder.....with parts supplied by the lowest bidders....

Bezos should have bid 2 Bil lower IN THE FIRST PLACE, or did some of his people not think that they could actually DO the job cheaper than originally spec'd?

who knows? he treats his employees like dirt, and makes a lot of false promises. if you are advocating for no taxes, good luck with that.
the poor don't need to be legislated into freedom, just a minimum of food, shelter, clothing, healthcare and etc.

Concur.

 

I hope no one here is claiming that Bezos pays no income tax. Propublica reports that while he paid no income tax in 2007 and 2011, he did pay $1.4 billion in income taxes over the period 2006-2018, on a taxable income of $6.5 billion.

While many people don't agree with that low effective tax rate, I don't agree with Propublica's "true tax rate", which is really propaganda to charge real income taxes on unrealized paper gains. While I will support taxing realized investment income the same as wages and salaries, I will never support income taxes on unrealized paper gains.

If somebody scrapes together a few coins from what's left and manages to invest them, build wealth, create jobs, and create stuff? Innovate? Change the world?
