Are there any video about S-class vs 18 wheelers?

Thank god then that iQ scored 5/5 stars under new stricter EuroNCAP rules, and is safest Toyota on the road when tested against barrier, and safer than Yaris of similar weight... it is no accident that iQ has world first back window airbag.

Awwwww. Sure is a cute little thing.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that while it may initially be marketed as either a Toyota or a Scion, that what we might be seeing here is one of the 2011/2012 Prius division's entry level car. Probably won't end up with the same name either. But to drive another nail into Honda's (especially) efforts, we see it here, now, and a bit earlier than we might have without the world's automakers in a dead-on sprint to offer the most hybrid bang for the buck. This tiny platform is going to be a gold mine.

As far as where the 2 missing doors are? Might it have 3 on the outside, and 5 on the inside? Like the Prius is larger on the inside than what it appears to be from the outside. (yes, I'm kidding)

100-120HP for a car of *that* size!? WOW . That's gonna be one hell of a street racer. And 60MPG? For less than $15000? WOW again . I can't wait for the european pricing.

Will the IQ sell it America? Have you seen how small it is? They're look on as really small over here and we're used to small cars! They are still a popular seller. My Toyota dealer says he sells loads of them and doesn't have to try. A hybrid version if released would almost run on fresh air.

I can see if it has a manual tranny, but if has a CVT tranny you will just sell to people who sit on the hiway :D

if it gets 60 MPG per EPA ratings, it will no problem. 60 MPG, EPA means with a little effort, a lot of people here will see 75 MPG easily. that is a pretty big draw. gas is cheap now, but no one expects it to stay that way. as soon as the economy recovers and unemployment goes back down, prices will rise

You're right there but we do have trucks and vans and 45 ton trucks. You can worry about these things hitting you or you don't. Motorcycles manage so do bicycles and yes some do get wiped out but you can't worry about it all the time or you'd never leave home.

The Smart & the IQ are funky and yeah in some accidents you might be worse off than in a bigger vehicle but some you might be ok. You take your chance in life :(

I'm not bragging or anything, but I nailed this story! iQ hybrid, $15k US.
    What a car. YES ! :cheer2: :rockon::hail:

I was pretty sure that HSD was too big and too expensive for micro cars. I am SO glad I was wrong.

It would have been interesting to find out how the crash dummies data turned out. The thing that really struck me was how the Smart Car went through some serious G forces in the stopping and then the reversal of direction. The S class continues forward throughtout the encounter.

I think Toyota will show not only the hybrid Scion iQ, but the regular gasoline model, too.

If I were Toyota, the Scion iQ will sport a 1.5-liter Valvematic engine rated at around 100 bhp with a CVT automatic, and the hybrid version (which may end up being named Scion iQ-h will use a 1.3-liter Atkinson cycle engine in a full Hybrid Synergy Drive system.

They already do. It is called Toyota IQ and it has been on sale since half a year ago or so.

Perhaps where you are but not here in the US so for us it'd be a debut of sorts.

I'm not familiar with the Scion brand so help me out here. From a North America marketing perspective, what would be the difference in branding this new iQ (or whatever it will be called) as a Toyota vs Scion?

Scion tends to attract a much younger audience with affordable priced vehicles that have 'unique' styling compared to comparable Toyota's.

Branding it as a Scion may drive more people to the brand who otherwise may not consider a Scion.
