Today, the 'Polar Vortex' cold disappeared with the gentle, southerly breezes that brought the temperature up to a pleasant 50F. So during a commercial, we flipped over to see what the local radar showed and found:

My wife and I were rolling on the floor. Every 30 seconds or so, the temperature continued to climb a degree.

Maybe they switched to Rankine units and did not inform you.

No but what happened really? Did you call them? I would have called. For either thermocouple or thermistor, the pattern you described does not shout 'hardware failure'

Free bonus - what's the weather in Kunming?

I know you're all desperate to know. Winds at 20-30 mph means kite flying weather! Youse should see the rigs the serious kite flyers use here.

34.6 inches of barometric mercury is also rather a lot.I don't think the Dead Sea at -1400 feet hits that frequently.

The analogous Intellicast site for Huntsville now says 29.93 That, I could believe.

    On further inspection

    Highest barometric pressure

We see that Huntsville has set a new record by a substantial margin. Our thread boss, who knows what a Kollsman window is, focused on a non-record T instead.

    Ten lashes.

I had noticed the pressure. Maybe they were lowering it down a mine shaft at the time. Something like the South African mine shafts:

Regardless, my wife and I throughly enjoyed the 'extreme' weather.

The Shaft Hypothesis explains both data. Nice.

Whatever the true purpose of the Huntsville Hole, the authorities are going to have a tough time denying it now.
