I am trying to buy a Prius. My first, ever, after a long time of wanting.

I know very little about them aside from what I've learned online.

I have a line on a '09 that seems to run and drive well and today I collected data from it via Torque. I'm attaching images of the HV analysis. The batter looks good, right?

Any help would be really, really appreciated.

Welcome to PriusChat! I bought my 2009 Gen II (88k miles) (The ChuggyPig (see pics in album)) and love the car! It replaced my 1993 Corolla DX Wagon (failed state inspection (rotten rocker-panels) at 292k miles, engine/transmission still in great shape). The odometer on the ChuggyPig has just about turned over 113k, and I've just completed the first Recondition/Charge/Balance-cycle (see Prolong Discharge using search function), See threads passim for reasons why I love this car, and details about mods I've made, and gas consumption etc. etc.) - Wil

jrdamien Your hybrid battery looks good to me. I've been monitoring my 2009 battery with torque app for 2.5 years continously. I haven't used the graphing feature that you have used. not sure if my torque app version has that feature..
The best item for hv battery condition is the intenal resistance; yours .024-.026 ohms looks very good. The outer cells will always show + or - .001 ohms difference due to outer cell temperature differences..
Your max delta (differential ) cell voltage is about .5 volt (very good). My 2009 with 82000 miles is 1 volt
Your max regen battery current around 95 amps very good. Mine 93 amps.
Your max discharge current 108 amps is perfect. mine also 108 amps (system limiting).

My girlfrends 2010 prius hv battery internal cell resistance is .022 ohms with 45,000 miles. when hers was new internal resistance was around .018 ohms. Internal cell resistance can vary .010 ohm with high temperature varations.

We live in las vegas nevada where summer temperatures are 110 degrees plus. Before I used torque app to control hv battery cooling fan running mostly fan speed 5 out of 6 maximum, I would see my battery temp hitting (2009 genII) 140 degrees and system running current limiting..

    Ya, that and many more.

I am steering clear of salvaged titles.

But that leaves me with few choices. Low mileage Prii in my price range seem non existent.

surprising, because gas prices and competition have driven up depreciation rates. have you looked outside your geographic area?

I have and continue to look. It's a tremendous amount of salvage and rebuilts. I think the 'best' deal I've found is a one owner '07 with 118k for $7500.

I think trying to spend less than 10k is going to be a fools eland and I'll be better off finding a Yaris.

I didn't know the Torque app could read HV battery stats. Would I need to update from the standard Torque Pro?

No, you can do it from TP, but you need some custom PIDs to do it. Google it, there are good instructions online.
