    I fear Arnold may alter the legislation to read "Only Hummers are allowed in the car pool lane." Haha. Actually, although Arnold may love Hummers, he is actually a supporter of the environment and hybrids. I have seen him on television numerous times speaking at green/eco events.

    He dumped his hummer(s) once Hummer became a laughing stock that even the Chinese ran away from, when China was given an option to buy the rights to manufacture them. The Hummer will for EVER be a symbol of GM's folly ... choosing IT for production, over the EV1. Thanks for the brilliance Wagoner and Lutz. Anyway, Arnold DID sign the legislation today.

    haha more of arnold's policies are more leftist than right. That's why he, as a so called "Republican" got voted in a mostly democratic state. but hey if he can afford his hummer, go ahead lol.

    A slight correction for the OP's title in part stating, "... After that, you will need a PHEV or EV..."

    Let's not forget ... the Volt will NOT get stickers because it can't meet the ATPZEV standard which in part will require a longer battery warranty. GM was apparently too scared to attach the longer battery warranty to their future Volt offering. They're hoping they can certify by 2013 (if they haven't gone out of business by then) I sure hope the Gen III prius PHEV will pony up the longer warranty. THAT would really put the hurt to GM.

    Governator Arnold just signed the new HOV legislation into law.

    Effective in 2012, if you want to drive in the carpool lane, you are going to need to be driving a Leaf, Volt, Plug-In, Tesla, or something with a plug.
