    Lots of loby efforts going on to bring this about;

    Google is going the NEV route - while Tesla looking to go standard speeds.

    Quick prediction - the public will freak - once the 1st accident happens - despite any lower accident rate statistics .... similar to EV's having WAY less fires than gassers.

    And the panic when people got trapped in early Prii after crashes. Toyota squelched that nonsense quickly by training first responders how to deal with the HV system.

    Waymo would be wise to do something similar.
