    Not news, but didn't find it posted elsewhere.

    If you're in California and considering the purchase of a PHEV, this program is available only through the dealer at time of purchase. Looks very restricted, but worth a try.

    California Energy Commission EVSE Program

    AeroVironment has been awarded a contract by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to assist in the deployment of electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) and installation. This program is designed to increase the infrastructure of charging equipment available in California to lay a foundation for the increased adoption of electric vehicles.
