Hey guys I've been working on 2nd gen Prius hybrid batteries for a while now. Recently I have been getting a lot of calls for working on Camry batteries. I usually turn them away but decided to take one on. Has anyone on here worked on one? Are the cells the same? Is it also 28 cells? Any other tips tricks or anything I should known about while working on the Camry vs the Prius?
    Thanks in advance !

What? You are going off the advice on forums to use on your customers?

I was just asking if there was any differences I should know about. I appreciate the response. I'm not sure if it's taboo to ask for advice with customers. If it changes anything it is actually for a relative that I'm not charging to do the work that's the only reason I agreed to do a Camry since I never have before. I go on these forums religiously for advice and if anyone has any for me it would be more then appreciated.

The modules in the camry are exactly the same size as the prius, what i don't know is if their internal resistance are exactly the same. The camry has 34 modules unlike the 28 in the Prius. I have worked on two camry batteries and used the same principle learnt here.

The 34 Camry modules are usually the B2 modules which may have a different series resistance. Make sure you match up the modules correctly. Taking apart a Camry battery is a nightmare the first couple times. Take lots of pictures for future reference and to get it back together properly.

I have been asked to work on the camry hybrid packs as well. I have opened one but need to know how the banks are numbered so I can match the battery bank to the DTC. Any help is appreciated.

you would think, Toyota is like the gm of japan that they use a lot of the same parts that are used in other toyota hybird cars I would think the same for the ( Panasonic made battery's for Toyota) that they would be the same, just my 2 cents I thought I throw in.

You would rather he work on it without? It's a forum. It's a place to ask questions.
