I am a Prius owner since 2007. Just traded in my 2013 Prius 3 2 days ago for the base model 2018 Prius Prime (my first plug-in hybrid).

I have learned to optimize my mileage on my old Prius by monitoring the real time mileage indicator plus the battery fill gauge at the same time. Lets me pulse and glide without depleting the battery and forcing ICE to engage. Unfortunately' I don't see a way to put both of these indicators on the same screen. I end up having to constantly switch screens to make sure I'm not over depleting the battery charge.

Is there any way to customize what I see on the UI to allow this? Or can I load a custom App on the car to do this?

Guidance appreciated for a Plug in hybrid newbie.

    Thanks

Get an OBD2 reader w/bluetooth and use Hybrid Assistant app, Hybrid Reporter app, Dr. Prius app or Torque app. All of these will give you lots of real time data to max yr mpgs. But be warned I went thru hell buying 3 junk OBD2 readers that had to be returned. Finally I found this article and bought a Veepeak: Hybrid battery diagnostic and repair tool for Toyota and Lexus
