I recently upgraded to the 2016 Prius Two. I still have my '06 sitting around, and it's in pretty bad shape so I don't imagine being able to make much (if any) money off of it. My '06 had the JBL sound system, which was way better than the system in the Prius Two. I'm having trouble finding the specs on the '06 speakers and if they would be compatible with the 2016 model. I would love to be able to transfer the JBL system into my newer car. Can it be done? Thanks in advance for any help! You guys rock.
Jbl Prius has tweeter (upper door) and not sure if lower door is coax or component. But the tweeters won’t be usable unless you do some hacking around. According to crutchfield, the bottom doors are 6.5 so if the are coax, they might be usable. The amp help run the system, and chances are the amp is not usable in the new Prius. I would recommend building a new system.
Toyota speakers in general are not known for having a long life. Besides, I think the JBL system uses 2 ohm speakers, which are wrong for a 4 ohm system like your car has. Speaker upgrades for your car can be found very inexpensively, at places like Crutchfield.
