I haven’t found a clear answer in the archives or stickies but feel free to direct me. I got my 2008 base Prius (no smartkey) with one fob. I lost the fob and had a locksmith program a new fob, and I programmed a second new fob. Then I found the original fob. The original fob unlocks the doors but won’t start the car. The same key dance that programmed the second new fob doesn’t work on the original fob. Am I doing something wrong or is the original fob locked out by the car?

If the fob already lock/unlocks the doors, then you just need to do the first procedure (PROCEDURE A) of the "Chicken Dance" to program it to start the car. Then skip to PROCEDURE B step 10 to end the programming.
