well heck - throw out all safety & emission standards - drop gas to 39ยข & once they re-stripe the parkin lots - we can all drive v10 Winnebago's.
    Weeee!

So we don't have money for hybrids, but we have plenty of dough for a new pickup.

BoB Wilson alluded to the *big* existential problem: where is Prius Chat without, well, Prii?

Use more carbon fiber, and BMW could rebadge it as part of the i series.

VW tried the dual clutch with their Jetta Hybrid and couldn't give them away.

I like prius but only Gen 3 2009-2012 but rest of them shapes are boring. They can do better while keeping their designs same while changing some bits on their rear part.

That's because the hybrid was the most expensive Jetta of the bunch, not because of the transmission that was in all the other Jettas.

The Ioniq and Niro are doing well in this market, and Jazz/Fit hybrid beat the Aqua/Prius c for a month or two in Japan.

IIRC "edgy" was a term used in some Toyota 4th gen press releases. They had one video too: that was edgy personified: the car portrayed driving along, and suddenly the horizon would be folded at a crisp "edgy" 90 degrees.

I seriously think they've gone a wee bit nuts with this, find the new car a rolling 'toon...

Guys over at the TDI club that traded in their diesels for the hybrid found that they didn't like the way they drove and traded them in for another TDI.

the very fact that a Gen 5 will come to Market gives hope. It means the company has spent up to ~4 years designing it / testing it & building all the prototypes as well as starting production. What that means also is that it may very well be (as an example) that the cruz, volt, Ford's that got cancelled were done so - quite some time ago, (in their preliminary / next gen planning stage) so that those companies wouldn't have to go through all those types of design/approval/R&D/DOT/EPA signoffs - only to get cancelled after all that Capital was already spent.

maybe they still sell enough to grab some carb credits

and if they sell well outside n/a, how much can it cost to ship us a few?

Yep, it will at least recoup some of the R&D costs.

I dont think law gas prices has anything to do with it. 2009 gas price was even lower and prius sales was like icecream on sunny day. I trink prius lost sales to EV and not to diesel/ gas cars

    SM-G950F ?

Many share your opinion that Toyota went overboard on the Gen4's...including me.

However, one very interesting observation I've seen is that my 16 year old son and nearly all his friends think the Gen4s are 'really cool', etc... My 19 year old daughter also likes them a lot.

they designed them for a generation that can't afford one, or doesn't want a car to begin with

    u.s. or croatia?

agree on ev's. i'm thinking more about why the percentages of gas/diesel to renewables isn't changing in the u.s.
