Canadian Owner first tank so far

Just off the lot, ~110km on odo, average 3.7L/100km, still full tank of gas. Your typical daily GTA shitshow traffic. My 2015 mazda3 2.0 would do 7.5 at best trying hard. Very happy with the gas mileage.

 

Just Finished my first tank. On-board computer: 1011km , 4.0L/100km life time. Notice it's slowly climbing back to the EPA numbers. Filled up 39.4L. Gas nozzle shut off twice. Distance to empty: 840.

 

Goodbye Summer. Hello Fall!

Temperatures here have been hovering around 0-10 degree Celsius all day. Short drives definitely return higher fuel consumption. But interestingly, my trip A is still around 4.1L/100km. Nonetheless, engine burns more fuel at cold start and now it always turns on the engine regardless of battery level and I expect that to worsen as we head into our first winter with Prius.

 

As you all may know already, we have snowstorm in the NE region. In Toronto it's -15c all day the last two days with strong wind and snow on the road. And I'm sad to report that my mileage totally sucks, sitting at 6.0L/100km currently half way thru the tank. Normal and usual commute around town and highway.
Climate control and seat heaters were on to survive. 16c was the trick to not kick on the ICE when idle at stop light. Tire Pressure was set to 38 front and rear at cold start. My gas mileage could easily shoot up to 6.5L had I not baby the throttle. It's also particularly rough on the highway when the outside elements were so strong that the engine worked so hard to keep up to speed and almost running exclusively on gas.
