    It’s still better than 60%

(which is now 42%, an improvement I guess)

The reason we all know breakfast serial names (fruit loops) or bra names (playtex) is because, unlike the auto industry . . . . other lines of biz pay a whole lot of cash to drown you with their name & likeness. Car ads are usually for pickups. Gee, what a coincidence, that they are the main stay now days. Yes, Toyota is finally doing a bit more advertising of hybrids ... but otherwise ... it's pretty bleak out there for these cars that are supposed to be the future.
A bunch of the ads that HAVE come out for plug in's & even hybrids have been a farce, imo.

VFACTS Australia November - has some 12 month statistics - (bear in mind NO TESLA in this):

Sales of electrified vehicles – including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, pure electric – increased by 67.6 per cent, from 4295 in November 2019 to 7200 in November 2020.

However, the growth was once again driven primarily by hybrid cars, and in particular the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

Sales of pure electric cars (not including Tesla, which does not supply figures) were down by 8.7 per cent, from 195 in November 2019 to 178 in November 2020.

Sales of hybrid cars were up by 73.6 per cent, from 3967 sales in November 2019 to 6887 reported as sold in November 2020.

Sales of plug-in hybrid cars remained stable, from 133 sales in November 2019 to 135 reported as sold in November 2020.

[To put it into perspective in NOVEMBER, there were 422 Porsches, 7 Rolls Royces, 1981 Toyota LandCruiser Wagons, 440 Nissan Patrols, 2602 Toyota Prados - and about 12,000 Utes.]

Anecdotally, Prius Primes have been selling well locally. There are ads (digital as well as bus stop and billboards advertising the Prime). A few of them are rideshare but it seems most are privately owned.

The introduction of AWD-e to the regular Prius gave a small boost but I think that has since waned. The few 2016-2018 Prii that I see are usually freshly plated (which could indicate a used car) or with a non-Toyota licence plate frame (highly likely a used car)

I think there is space for the rear inverter under the battery pack.
