No, we're ok on the coast, just a lot of days are smoggy from the interior fires, depending on the wind. California had an ordeal I hear. Both locations, and points between, pretty much a rerun of last year. :(

    The smoke is obtrusive:cool:.

And it’s not even fire season yet :(.

Just hope people will learn to be responsible and less careless(y).

It just says " Maintenance Required" and is pretty big, takes up most of the display. The manual says it comes on every 4.5 k miles....I have tried many times to follow the instructions in the manual and it will not reset...argh. Toyota wants to charge to reset it for me. Any help out there would be most appreciated! Thx!

On the gen 2, the reset is done when your odometer is showing your car's total mileage.

On the gen 3, the reset is done when your odometer is showing Trip A. Not total mileage.

You are not confusing the 2 correct?

Took a concerted 10 minutes searching through my pdf's, the Owner's Manual and the Warranty and Maintenance Booklet. Toyota should have printed this on a card, say kept in the glove box. Found on page 432 of Owner's Manual, at the least the (US) 2012 model year Plug-In Prius PDF I had:

I'll attach a more print-friendly pdf version of the above.

Reads exactly like mine, @Mendel Leisk.

@rickngrace, I believe you that you're doing it right, but I can't imagine why it won't reset. For the dealer to charge for a 10-second job is just amazing, unless there is something wrong that needs fixing. I'm getting really curious as to why it won't reset.

I keep trying to no avail. I'm tempted to pay the dealer, but only if I can watch. I'll let you know what I find out. It's a real stumper!

Thank you Mendel! Exactly mine, but it just won't clear. Think I'll take it in, but if I have to pay, I get to watch! Hmm.....

I don't know why they wouldn't let you watch. If it's just something in the procedure, they can do it in the parking lot.

Edit to add: maybe they will let you video it so you have a record of the steps they take.

I wonder if removing the terminal from the battery would reset it?

Then it would have to relearn everything, like me. Lol

Good idea. I'll be sure to ask why the steps in my manual are not correct too, thx

Hmm...that would be my issue too. Relearn everything! Think I'll go to the dealer and see if they will walk me through it. Thx!
