As your fellow Canadian, Red Green, would say, "And it's just that easy." Yup. Hold down the kph/mph button while you start the car. Keep holding that button till the display finishes its brief countdown. Takes about three seconds.

Since I don't usually have Trip A on display (usually Trip B) I do need to check that first since I always seem to forget about doing that when I shut down for the oil change. And that just gave me an idea. I use A for the tank and B for the daily trips. If I reversed that, it would almost always be on A. Hmmm.... Can I teach this old dog a new trick? :sneaky:

I arranged them alphabetically (Tank=A & Trip=B) to make it easier for me to remember. But I think I'll change it at the next fill-up in a few weeks. I have a label maker and I'm not afraid to use it! :ROFLMAO:

Most of the young'uns here do not (yet) understand the usefulness of memory aids.

I printed the labels a few minutes ago and they're on my desk next to my computer to help remind me when the time comes. I also printed labels for under the hoods of our two different Prii since they take different amounts of oil. No more looking it up in the manual.

    Memory aids:rolleyes:.

That’s what the notes app on your phone is for:).

My wife reminds me of what I need to remember ;).

And I learned “yes dear” very early on(y).

Careful with the Notes app on iPhone.
You can place your Apple account password in the notes, but cannot access the note if you forgot your password.:cry:
    Don't ask me how I know... :(

Password storage stays off of my iPhone;).

If someone steals it, it could be an easy gateway:whistle:.

    Good advice (y).

My notes app has a boatload of tips and links about the car that I've found here on PC. Plus maintenance records. Plus. Plus. Plus. LOL! A small sample:

And I thought it was just me.
I have never had a good memory but I can usually remember the gist of a topic and from there I go to the internet or wherever I can get a refreshment of my memory.

I've been forgetting stuff all my life. The only troubling part is that I know all these great stories and can't remember who I told them to.

Unfortunately, they do remember them and let me know about that fact quite often. LOL!

I guess we hijacked this thread, didn't we?
