can't get in, help!

2010 prius has been sitting for about two months, had some issues with the hybrid system and couldn't afford to do anything to it for a while. anyways i believe the battery is dead and we tried opening it to get some stuff out the car, the manual key can't be fully inserted into the slot! ive seen some threads where you have to turn the key harder than other cars but that's not the case here. the key won't insert all the way and it won't turn either way. what can i do? we've sprayed some wd40 in the key slot but that was no help.
