Other cultures don't consider long-range planning a "socialismistic plot".

Yes, you're exceptional! Um, because you're the USA!( USA! USA!)

Maybe it's living in a large country with abundant natural resources that generates enough wealth for the majority of voters in a sufficient numbers of states to block any national plan to do stuff that's really useful in the Senate.

Maybe it's just that highly-devolved Federal structural creates a Disunited States of America that's unable to create effective national infrastructure due to states trying to act in what they perceive as their own interest.

    Maybe it's ley-lines.

    I don't know. How can I? I'm an alien.

Do you mean the Greek, Irish, Portugal debt crisis? Or maybe the rush to build coal power plants in China and India without proper scrubbers?

The US is indeed exceptional. If you think it is so bad why are you here? :usa2:

The districts are gerrymandered enough to give 1 party control of most districts. Normally when the congress "tries" to do what they consider useful it is bad for the country. I wish we could fire all the idiots that can not get together to reduce the deficit and raise the debt ceiling.

I'm sure you believe most of the rest of the world is better, but I have traveled much of it. Until you see how bad some governments are you may not appreciate the one here. Some countries decided to build nuclear power plants in the ring of fire. Some decide "the others" are inferior and try and exterminate them. Being from somewhere else should not make it hard to understand things in this country. All of my grandparents were immigrants, and happy to be here.

I've found that most immigrants....even illegal ones, have a much better grasp of just how great a country the United States is than folks who've never experienced life in other places.
I've been in a lot of those places, and NO. I do not think that having been born in, or otherwise taking residence in the US makes you a superior person.....it just gives you a greater ability to reach (towards) your maximum potential....and bring others along as well.
Even the folks out there that are flopping and twitching over _____ (insert issue here) are mostly doing so because they believe that they're trying to make the world a better place.
    Others?
They just like to get into pissing contests for the joy of the fight.

    Pretty easy stuff, really.
