Car starting

    i doubt strapping down the battery does anything except keep it from getting damaged, as long as all the connections are tight.

    because there's about a good 2 in around the battery for it to move around and shift if the the bracket and strap isn't holding it in

    that is what i meant, damage to the battery from moving around and bouncing over bumps. if the connections are tight, it wouldn't affect anything else.

    yes, you can drive the car without a working mid, you just don't get the info feedback.

    The tight thing is what I'm worried about. There's not a lot of slack in the cable at all, I was actually a little hesitant about that

    The wiring harness doesn't have very much slack at all, before it even splits off to the three plugs 20180714_122602.jpeg

    if you found something loose, that could wiggle from battery movement, that could cause problems.

    let's see how she does with the correct tray.
