Car will not go in reverse

    2002 Prius was diagnosed a couple of yrs ago with voltage leak P3009, P3006 with red triangle. I have been driving it but lately it does not want to back up whn shifted into reverse. Engine chugs,car shakes, but no reverse. Is this likely related to bad HV battery block? Oddly, at times the brake light will come on and then the car will back up without problems.

    As I understand it, reverse is driven by the electric motor only, so it's possible a bad HV battery is the problem.
