carpet wet behind driver side - by rear passenger bench

    Good morning everyone. Just noticed this today. Carpet behind driver side (US model, 07, 150k miles) is wet! Does not smell dormant, and seems "soapy." Did not have rain, car is garage kept, windows never left open, did not go through car wash recently whereby water would have seeped in, have not had rain, nor have driven through rain recently. Any thoughts?

    Quite possibly the A/C drain clogged causing water to leak into the car. Mostly see this on the passenger side though, but it's not impossible to be on the passengers side.

    Open the back hatch and pull out the spare tire. Probaly a foot of water sloshing around back there.

    Nothing, and I had the dealership do a water test, no trouble found. This is very weird. Thank you everyone.

    this is a very common '07 problem, and unless someone spilled something back there, you have a leak in the seems and/or hinge areas of the hatch. don't trust the dealer, get in the back and have someone hit it hard with the garden hose from all angles.
