Unfortunately, no Toyota Prius models are included.

There are quite a few C.A.R.B. approved aftermarket cats but none for any Prius models.

I wanna follow-up on this. Someone took the catalytic on my 07. Is there a way I could install an aftermarket catalytic converter and not compromising my check engine light or the function of the car. I actually live in an area that doesn't require smog check. But atleast I wanna filter the exhaust. Any help would be great. if you guys already tried it and you have the link for the parts, that would be great.
    Thanks,
    Joe
PS. I'm paying for this outright. I don't want my insurance to go up.

Yes, there is a model available that runs less than $150, is a direct bolt on at the manifold flange and slips over the pipe remaining at the resonator. I've installed them in over a dozen Gen 2s in the last couple years and only had a problem with one. It developed an exhaust leak at the donut at the manifold. Replaced donut over a year ago

Check the below link from one of my previous posts. I've done many replacements. This model is the best I've come across. There's a handful of vendors that sell the identical model. It's the only one I've gotten that ahs the correct bolts and springs and a decent donut. The pipe is 2" and is crimped to 1.75 inches at the end. This allows a near perfect snug fit over the oem pipe at the resonator. Unfortunately, the kit includes a 2" pipe clamp, so I buy a 1.75" HD exhaust clamp from Oreilly's Autoparts for about 4 bucks. Fits perfect and seals great.

Great. and thanks for the information on the 1.75! By the way, Is there anyway you can direct me to the place where you bought the catalytic assembly and a possible pipe connection reducer incase if I need it or not and the 02 sensor.
    Thanks again...

I had a quick reply back from the seller and what do you think I should do about this?

    Thank you for your reply.
We checked your vin# and found your car was assembled in Japan, but this converter is not fit for Asian vehicles.

Don't know what to say, I may be mistaken but I thought that ALL (Gen2 at least) prius were produced in Japan.

Other cars like Corolla or Camry were made in multiple countries, but AFAIK not so for Prius.

Whatever you end up buying, I have found that the best donut gasket for any cat is one from Toyota. Most any other gasket is more likely to leak.

Well, it finally happened to me. My 2008's cat stolen right out of my driveway last night. I'm in CA, so this may mean I'll have to let this vehicle go. Unfortunately, the car has other issues (occasional bad noises from the brake accumulator, weak traction battery), so I'm not sure I really want to put much $ into it.

Anybody have any idea if Magnaflow is actually ever going to produce something legal for us in CA? Any other affordable options?

I do have comp insurance, so I will be looking into filing a claim. Perhaps that will "total" the car, but I doubt it.
