Back in November 2010 I bought a CPO 2006 Prius from a Toyota dealer. Stupid me I never tested the CD changer until a few weeks ago and yes, it's dead. Now that I am out of warranty and the Sale of Goods Act is completely lame, I am stuck with this problem.

I have a quote of 545 pounds to replace it. That's too much.

The slot for the CDs has something blocking it. I guess there is a flap that opens when the changer mechanism is in the right place. That never happens. Actually the Load button doesn't seem to do anything. When I press it the lights at the ends of the slot don't turn on at all. Could it be that the Load button is dead and repairable with my trusty soldering iron? Or am I stuffed and I just have to find a used unit on ebay?

I want to retain the stock look so I'm not interested in non-OEM solutions, even hidden ones, thanks.
