    In the title of this thread, I mentioned that politicians like hybrids. In the original link to this article from Google News, it mentioned that with the hybrid price premium versus non-hybrid versions of the same model, the hybrid version brings in more sales tax dollars on the date of vehicle purchase compared to the non-hybrid versions.

    IMO the only valid point in the linked article is that petro-dollars stay home. The rest ignores the debt the consumers took on to buy these cars, and the transient deviation away from steady state sales.

    The joker who applauded easy credit has obviously forgotten one of the root causes of the worse recession in the US and the world since the great depression.
