Short 2 min video of completed ceramic job. Badging indicates PHEV. Probably United Kingdom.

I've been thinking about getting that done on my Prius Prime.

Ceramic protectants provide a much higher durability than wax. They resist heat, UV rays, environmental contaminants & harsh detergents much better than wax. Plus, wax simply sits on the paint’s surface, it does not create the chemical bond like we find with ceramic-based protectants. From: Wax vs. Sealant: Is there a difference? - Leno's Garage

Quote from the link, and this is for "sealant":

Depending on the type of sealant & the conditions your car is in, you can get anywhere from 2-4 months of protection! That’s more than double the amount of time when compared to a wax. Of course, waxes won’t last as long as synthetic or ceramic-based protectants, but again longevity can vary widely depending on the environment.

Meh: I'll keep waxing, spring and fall. $20~30 bottle lasts me 3~4 years, and that's doing our kids cars occasionally too.

Agree with you. Ceramic seems like the new "cool thing". Not certain ceramic is worth the $$.

Every time I do the 6 month wax, I think "you know, I really should just do this once a year". We're low miles, garage stored, really wouldn't be that much of a stretch. But I'm hooked with the six month interval, lol.

And the term "ceramic" gets my suspicion index climbing, pretty sure there's no visit to a giant pottery kiln...
