    Hello all,
This is my first time posting and i dont know if this is the correct thread.

I have a Toyota Auris 2013 1.8 2ZRFXE hybrid and i blew the motor due to a bad headgasket at 310.000km.
    I swapped the engine with a 2ZRFXE gen4 engine out of a 2021 CH-R with only 14.500km.

The engine runs perfectly in the auris, but I have now a heating problem and i think it the valve that is under the EGR that is staying closed.
This valve is not connected to the Gen3 wireloom so i cannot open it.
the valve exits the engine and goes to the heatingcore>EGR>thermostat>etc...

    My questions are:
    • what is the name of this valve?
    • How do i keep it open? what voltage?
    • Should i just drill it open ?
    See picture:

The name of the part is "flow shutting valve". It is electrically driven and the valve itself has a little hole which is always open for a small amount of water. The Best way will be to use your old aluminium water outlet which has a standard pipe outlet for the EGR. There are threads for "engine swap" and one user from the uk posted the original part number of the Toyota water outlet without these valve port. Every time the new engine has additional parts build to the block, it would be a good choice to use the parts from the original motor without the additions.
