Hi I recently changed my 12 v battery in my 2006 Prius, after changing the battery I tried turning the car on... light turns green and when I press it again it turns orange and the brake becomes difficult to press with the check engine light on!

check the connections for cleanliness and tightness, also negative to ground. if that doesn't help, get a voltmeter and check the battery voltage at the posts. if it's less than 12.7, take it back to be charged or buy a charger.
if it still doesn't work, check the voltage at the front jump point. if it's close to the same as the battery, you're gonna have to have the trouble codes read

After a battery change the first attempt[t at starting will light up the dashboard. Wait a bit and try it again it should be fine.
