2013 Prius C (base) 220000 miles. Bought second hand in 2021. Changed out hybrid battery 3 years ago. Haven’t had an issue since until this week.

Left headlights on at work the other day but it started. Didn’t have issues again until today. Started after work, drove it for a couple minutes but had to run an errand and shut car off but it wouldn’t start again. Showed all sorts of dashboard lights and acted like it was dying. Gave it a minute and it started and drove right to auto part store. Kid tested the 12v battery and said that it wouldn’t get a read and so more than likely the battery is dead. Bought a new one to install at home. Went to take off negative and it was corroded. Cleaned off corrosion and installed new battery. Went to turn car on and it wouldn’t start and stated the ‘check hybrid system ..” message. Took out 12v battery again and reinstalled in case i didn’t get things right. Still didn’t work. Had a friend come jump via the fuse method and still wouldn’t start but all lights on the dash are lit.

    Any ideas? Appreciate the help!

It looks like you've corrected the 12v problem.

Now you need to connect it to a good diagnostic scanner to interrogate the many computers on board.

Toyota Techstream or Autel AP200 strongly recommended.
