I think the black and blue background behind the Toyota emblems is just weird, so I decided to change to a different color.

Actually, I decided that the best appearance would be to have body-color there. I removed the badges, which have a thin plastic insert behind them with the black/blue color.

I bought 12”x12” samples of 4 different car wrap films, and chose the one that is closest to my car’s paint color. I bought them from http://www.metrorestyling.com/

Then just applied the adhesive wrap film on top of the original inserts, then pressed firmly in place and then trimmed with an exacto knife. Then reinstalled the emblems with the new recolored inserts.

I think it looks pretty good.

Thanks- I just bought it as a certified car from the local Toyota dealer- it had 23k miles, with only one owner, who changed the oil every 2500 miles. Unfortunately, no room for it in my garage- it will live outside.

One more little mod coming, I found a nice relatively-subtle exhaust tip (that doesn’t look like a 16 year old would choose it)- pics soon.

It took a LOT of searching to find a dual tip that did NOT look like that LOL.

I know this is nonetheless probably a juvenile mod, but my 64 year old brain still has a lot of 24 year old (or maybe 14 year old) thought processes.

P.S. Still considering whether or not to stick on the TRD emblem to replace the removed PriusV emblem. (That would be kind of tongue in cheek, even though with your recommended sway bar the car now has one actual TRD part installed.)

OK, I know what a LOLA is, but 99.999% of Prius owners (and other normal people) have NO idea that's a race car maker.

(They probably think you really like that Kinks song LOL!)

I sold my white v, but missed it and just bought a silver one.

I just did a video showing how to remove the front and rear oval emblems and change the background, see it here:

    Really nice car.

Your profile says you have a 2013 Prius v with 23k miles is a great find for a car that old. Unusual, but not that much so. My 2012 v is at 26.6 K miles and will be ten years old in February 2022.

Thanks- I just updated my profile. I sold my 2013 few months ago, but just bought a 2017 with 25k miles.

I really like my cut-down shaft black PEEK (polyetherethierketone) ball shifter on my black switch plate. The shift knob sticks out no more than 3/4 inch and shifts take just a flick of the right index finger. micro shifter.jpg dash view 2.jpg

I actually like the larger standard Prius knob, I had one on my previous v, and I see you did, too. I found a very easy way to adapt those, I'll add to your old thread.

My dad's friend used a stainless steel threaded sleeve and achieved a tight friction fit into the shift knob to prevent any looseness. He made sure that it dd not stick out beyond what was necessary for the knob to interfere with the movement of the shifter.

The micro knob was his later creation. It shifts with the movement of just my fingertip. And, unlike a push button shifter, there is no need to hunt for the correct button.
