Changing air filters

    I thought I would change the engine and cabin air filters on my 2013 Persona and while I was at it, same for my 2001 Avalon. I purchased the filters on Amazon. Pretty easy for the Prius (I watched a video on youtube). When I went to change the cabin air filter on the Avalon I was very surprised to see that there was no filter in the compartment! I have no idea how long it has been this way but possibly 10 years or more!! (cough, cough)

    Lots of dust. I tried to vacuum it out as best as I could. I meant to post in gen 3! oh well

    I know! And this car lives outdoors and under my neighbors nasty ash tree. Not as filthy as I would have expected.

    Just be glad it wasn't the engine air filter that was missing. Most cars didn't even have HVAC filters until fairly recently, although buildings have had them for many decades.

    Is the filter for the engine different on the Gen4 than Gen3?
