Trying for two days to change the date in my pip advanced. Get as far as calendar adjust mode. Asking for arrows up and down. Then display goes to " temp". Any thoughts????

  2. What is really interesting is that the site is still F/U, does Toyota have any programers that know what they are doing?

I know, my grandson has taken 4 years of Japanese, I will have him try to change the date. I think I am getting very good milage, have 308 miles with a half tank of gas left. Thats over 60/mpg I think.

    what does "Zimmy" stand for?

  5. on the PIP, I believe the long term mpg under Trip B or the short term, Trip A. Assuming no zeroing out on Trip A. I misunderstood perhaps, before. For what are you changing the date?

  6. Edit. Assuming no zeroing out on Trip B.

  7. Strange, I could not edit normally, tried 3 times

  8. You may be holding the buttons too long

The date displays as 2-3-11. Now we know that is not the presnt date, I can't seem to find a way to change it.

You can't use the arrows on the steering wheel or by the climate controls to adjust the time.
If you're trying to adjust the time by the speedo, you keep pressing some button on the steering wheel to increment. I don't remember off the top of my head.

Yea I tried those arrows and they did not work. It has be possible to change the date ( and the time). I will not give up. Today is another day, I will sit in the car and push buttons until it works.

This is described on page 276 of the manual
if you don't have that handy, it's linked in the FAQ sticky thread
you press DISP to increase and TRIP to decrease the date. 5 seconds after no operation it automatically saves.
    cheers

It is a bit cumbersome, but it does work…….
    1) Using the “Display” button, step to the “Settings” screen (displays the currently saved date)
    2) Press and Hold the Display Button; Display will change to “Settings” menu
    3) In the menu screen (shows “exit/calendar/ev-eco/etc”) press the “Display” button to step through these options
    4) Stop when “Calendar” is highlighted
    5) Press and hold the “Display” button,; screen will change to the currently saved date and show Display and Trip buttons for increase or decrease.
    6) Press either “Display” (increase day) or “Trip” (decrease day) until the correct date is set. Pressing either button will increment the “day” one at a time, or holding the button down will cause the date to scroll faster.
    7) Once the correct date is displayed, wait about 5 seconds and the update will be stored.
    8) You do need to work quickly; if you pause during the setting, it will save and you will need to reenter the menu again to continue
It does work; I was able to successfully set my calendar.

Thank you! I've been trying to set this calendar for a week now. The owners manual was completely unhelpful.

I too needed to set the date -- very strange process but now it is set thanks to the instructions.

Setting the date will allow your DISP to graph monthly consumption correctly.

Doesn't take more than a few minutes, pretty easy.

I figured out this much--I changed the date okay but I can't get to the year. Since it says 2012 and it's now 2014 I'd really like to fix that!
