I want to hear a bit of roar on my exhaust when I put a little power on my Prius III.

But I know most of the schematics of the Prius are made that way. I was wondering if anybody here or knows anyone who changed their mufflers to a universal exhaust in the rear.

This one is a universal exhaust from Borla. It's called the Borla CrateMuffler Atak version I want to purchase.

More noise can convince you you have more power, but 1/4 mile times, autocross laps, and dyno charts cannot measure a difference. Science would call it dark performance, as it can't be detected.

(You are aware that even the ugly noise an unmuffled Prius makes, only happens when the engine is running, right?)

There was a joke about performance mufflers on a Prius, that you can hear the engine rooarrrrr in one second, it's so fast the next second it's gone. Well, that is the roar is gone, the car's still here. (Battery took over)

Personally, I would rather have a loudspeaker that played the George Jetson car sound from under the hood of my Prius.. :)

If you want a "roar" from your exhaust, you bought the wrong car.
The Prius is not a lion, it is a pussy cat. :ROFLMAO:

LOL. Not even a second I hear it. Not unless I punch the car for a couple of seconds but I would waste some mpg for it.

I'm not really a loudspeaker person IMO. Mostly performance or style.

:D I was planning to get a 2012 Blue WRX at first.. But for being practical, gas saving purposes, and commute to work, my Prius was a good choice for a daily driver.
